“Dark, but not too dark…” So began the first brainstorming session for what was to become Bijoux.1021 — a masquerade-meets-1920s, speakeasy-meets-cirque-soirée, curiously magical and timeless night like no other — all to attract support for an important cause. Robin worked with her client to conceptualize the event, developed communication strategy, art directed photo and video shoots, and designed a myriad of materials for letterpress, digital press, and large format printing. Oversized cryptic posters in windows of empty storefronts, invisible ink, temporary tattoos, and a series of mysterious sprite strip-style videos built intrigue, anticipation, and engagement leading up to the event. Once guests found their way via secret entry to the venue, they were greeted by lush florals and candlelight, borrowed antique furnishings, delicious and beautiful fare, specialty cocktails and mocktails, perfectly themed live music, lilt and laughter, parlour games, a Bourbon closet, and clock-stopping blue hour magic.
